
This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension (12 months)
Job sharing is available for applicants that prefer part-time hours.
Located in Geraldton, Meekatharra School of the Air (MSOTA), is looking for a passionate Primary Teacher to join their school. The current vacancy is for a Year 2/3 class.
From our Geraldton premises MSOTA caters for Station Families, Travellers and Students who don’t attend mainstream school for medical reasons. The successful applicant must be willing to travel as home visits to families occur in Terms 2 and 3.
The school has a fantastic relationship with the families, and this strengthens the sense of community.
Collegiality is vital as there is a small staff consisting of Manager Corporate Services, Library Officer (0.4 FTE), Education Assistant (0.4 FTE), 4 Teachers, Support Teacher Learning position and Principal.

The Role
The successful applicant would ideally cover most learning areas except The Arts, and Languages Other Than English (Years 3 to 6). English and Mathematics is delivered via Webex Monday to Thursday and units of work are developed for the other learning areas.
Explicit teaching and strong differentiation are expected in Literacy and Numeracy. Experience with the Sounds Write professional learning is desirable but not essential.
Webex and Power Point are key to the delivery of Air Lessons. One Note and SeeSaw are utilised daily as tools to monitor and provide feedback on student progress.
Teachers work very closely with Parents, who act as Home Tutors, providing daily support to their children. Effective Teacher and Parent communication is vital as communication occurs on a daily basis.
Students also attend camps on site in Geraldton and Perth at various times during the year.
