We have two (2) permanent full-time positions commencing as soon as possible

The Department of Education’s strategic directions outline the commitment for every child, from Kindergarten to Year 12 to have access to high quality education underpinned by excellence in teaching and quality leadership. This is an education that meets the needs of the learner, preparing them for future success.

Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and committed leaders to work within the Disability and Inclusion leadership team in Statewide Services to transform system strategies and priorities into practical support for schools that improve the teaching and learning outcomes of students with disability and diverse learning needs.

The Disability and Inclusion Directorate are looking for people who, ideally, have a substantial understanding of disability and inclusion directions and initiatives, alongside a deep connection and commitment to schools and the people in them.

In this role you will:

  • inform and contribute to system responses to State and Commonwealth initiatives related to whole-school approaches to improve the quality of teaching and learning as well as facilitate the alignment of policy, resources and services.
  • provide high-level professional and strategic support for the effective development, implementation and coordination of projects, programs and initiatives.
  • conceptualise contemporary and evidence-based approaches to resource allocation, data production and analysis.
  • manage projects, programs and initiatives that meet current and emerging needs such as those relating to students with disability, including streamlining funding processes to reduce workload on schools supporting students with disability.
