The Role
As a Design and Technology Assistant, a key responsibility would be preparing the classrooms and workshops to enable the teacher to instruct students effectively. In addition, preparing specialised equipment and materials and provide operational advice for design and technology workshops, classes and demonstrations.
As the successful applicant, you will ideally maintain, evaluate and assess technical equipment, carry out repairs and maintenance on design and technology equipment, and arrange off-site repairs. The successful applicant assists with the ordering of supplies and equipment, liaise with suppliers, negotiate prices and obtain quotes and ensure adequate supplies are maintained
In addition, the successful applicant will assist in maintaining and improving current Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This includes overseeing general housekeeping practices to promote a safe and clean working environment and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in safety protocols. Additionally, the role involves supporting team members in adhering to WHS guidelines and contributing to regular safety audits.
