This is a 36 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025

Halls Creek District High School (DHS) is seeking school leader to develop, plan and delivery vocational educational and training to our senior students.

Located in the Central Kimberley Region between Broome and Kununurra, most students come from the town of Halls Creek and the communities of Mardiwaah Loop and Nicholson Block. A few students commute from several family communities within 20km of Halls Creek, Koongie Park Station (20km) and Lamboo Station (40km).

The Role

Halls Creek DHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic leader to join the leadership team as Program Coordinator - Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The successful applicant will ideally display a strong understanding of VET within the secondary school context. Applicants who display an ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders - including school staff, industry representatives, parents, and students will be highly regarded, particularly in relation to VET and endorsed programs such as Workplace Learning.

We are seeking an individual who can ideally implement and manage high-quality, innovative VET programs that support students in achieving the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret student performance data to inform planning and improve student outcomes are highly regarded.

As a key member of the school’s Leadership Team, the successful applicant should provide curriculum leadership in VET. They will also collaborate closely with Program Coordinators and School Administrators to ensure the ongoing development and delivery of exceptional learning opportunities for students.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
