The Role
Suitable applicants should be able to always demonstrate professional integrity and be committed to adopting ‘the Allendale way’ of teaching, particularly in the core curriculum areas of English and Mathematics. Lowering the cognitive load of our students and providing the conditions for long term information retention are clear and ongoing focuses of our school.
Strong moral purpose is a non-negotiable staff attribute at Allendale PS. In addition, applicants whose pedagogical approaches are centered on evidence-based teaching practices and high impact instructional strategies will be considered highly competitive.
Suitable applicants will be supported by a number of internal instructional leaders and curriculum coaches to meet the academic and social needs of our 350 students, over a third of which are Aboriginal.
Allendale PS uses the UFLI Phonics, Spelling Mastery, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and PR1ME Mathematics programs and is a Positive Behaviour Support school. Teachers deliver Knowledge Units to consolidate vocabulary, syntax and comprehension skills. Experience with these approaches would be beneficial.
