The Role
Our CIC should take pride in being responsible for providing a high standard of cleanliness within our workplace whilst ensuring school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department of Education procedures. The CIC is responsible for inducting, training, leading, and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; opening and locking the college, including setting the security alarm system; and conducting twice daily hand over with the Manager Corporate Services. You should coordinate and participate in vacation cleaning duties, which may include new generation vinyl cleaning, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas, and other such duties as required.
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience supervising staff, knowledge of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment, the ability to interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and be able to use cleaning equipment, including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners. You should be able to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team. You should be a highly motivated and proactive person who takes pride in being responsible for providing a high standard of cleanliness and a visually pleasing and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors to the school.
