This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing as soon as possible with possible extension.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English and or Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) curriculum. An understanding and experience in the teaching of literacy skills is highly advantageous. As part of this role, you will engage and build productive working relationships with students and be involved collaboratively with your colleagues to improve student results.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning focused on student improvement. Applicants will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environments and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. The successful applicant will ideally understand and use culturally responsive practices and pedagogies as well as utilise trauma informed practice. They will work with families, community, Clontarf Academy, STARS Foundation, Follow the Dream, Aboriginal Education and Student Services team to support ongoing student success.

With effective interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Ideally, you will challenge and confront complex and conventional practices to provide successful outcomes for students, and continually reflect on their own practices to enhance performance. The ability to adapt with and utilize technology within the English and HASS learning areas would be highly regarded.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
