This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025

Kambalda West District High School (DHS) is a friendly and caring school with dedicated and enthusiastic teachers that caters for both primary and secondary schooling in the Kambalda community. The Role

As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. The successful applicant should ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.

The successful applicant should be motivated, possessing the ability to teach secondary Arts and will be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum. As an Art teacher, you will deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. You should be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.

You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Kambalda West District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.  Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.   

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.  At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
