The Role

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated Head of Learning Area (HoLA) - Mathematics to join our dedicated leadership team. The successful applicant should display unwavering commitment to supporting student achievement through a positive and innovative approach to student learning while working closely with students, teachers and the wider community.

The successful applicant should display highly effective interpersonal skills and strong leadership skills while also having the ability to work collaboratively with an enthusiastic team of teachers to support the implementation of the Mathematics Learning Area plan and the ESC Strategic plan. You should have the ability to both teach and support staff to deliver the full spectrum of courses across Years 7 to 12 up to and including to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Specialist Mathematics level.

As a proactive leader, you would support your team to foster a culture that is student centred, and relationship focused. You will possess a strong working knowledge of the Western Australian Mathematics curriculum and associated judging standards, moderation practices and reporting requirements. This will involve you reflecting on and assessing the effectiveness of teaching practice and cultivating a safe and engaging learning environment inline with research-based best teaching practice. Experience in the use of classroom observations and instructional coaching will be considered beneficial.
