The Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and flexible educational leader to take on the role of Deputy Principal – Curriculum, with a primary focus on the Upper Years, while also demonstrating the capacity to work effectively across a K–6 context. This role includes a classroom teaching component and offers the opportunity to lead whole-school initiatives, drive curriculum improvement, and champion evidence-based teaching practices that enhance both academic achievement and student wellbeing.
As Deputy Principal – Curriculum, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic implementation of the school’s operational plans. A key focus will be working with the Upper Years team to ensure consistency in the delivery of high-impact programs including PLD Synthetic Phonics, Seven Steps to Writing Success, Daily Reviews, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Zones of Regulation, and Ochre Mathematics. A strong foundation in the Science of Learning is essential, particularly with a view to strengthening the teaching and learning of mathematics across the school. The successful applicant will lead efforts to raise the profile of mathematics, supporting staff to deliver high-quality, explicit instruction, and using data analysis to drive targeted improvements in student outcomes.
Working in close partnership with teachers, the Deputy Principal will help lead the development and implementation of an instructional coaching model. This includes mentoring staff, providing timely and constructive feedback, and delivering professional learning aligned to the school’s Business Plan and evidence based best practice.
To be successful in this role, the applicant will ideally demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, excellent communication with parents and carers, and a collaborative, relational leadership style.
