We are seeking to establish a pool of Assistant Gardener - Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

In this role, you will support the Senior Gardener/Handyperson in maintaining the school’s grounds and facilities, including lawns, garden beds, shrubs, and trees. Ideally, the suitable applicants will ensure hard landscaping areas such as courts and paving are well-kept and assist with marking sports areas when needed.

Suitable applicants will perform minor maintenance and repairs in line with departmental policies and be responsible for the upkeep and safe use of gardening tools and equipment. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential, as you’ll be expected to carry out your duties in line with OSH legislation, including the safe handling of hazardous substances. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the school community by helping create a safe and functional outdoor learning environment.
