This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.9FTE) position commencing ASAP with possible extension and/or permanency

Narrogin Residential College is seeking to recruit a flexible and enthusiastic individual to the position of part time Cook. This position is currently four hours on Monday afternoon, and eight hours daily from Tuesday to Friday.

The Role

The Cook will cater for meals at the college and college functions, whilst ensuring food handling and occupational hygiene practices are in accordance with relevant health and safety guidelines.

Ability to manage day to day catering for the college, and college functions including, menu planning, food preparation, (includes special dietary requirements), cooking for 50 – 100 people, food ordering and stock control are important aspects of this role.

The successful applicant will maintain high levels of quality control while ensuring kitchen equipment and facilities are hygienically maintained.

The successful applicant will possess good organisational and interpersonal skills and relate well with young people.

In addition, they should be able to respond to changing work needs within a team. The preferred applicant will have a qualification in Food Safety Supervision Skill Set, or the ability to obtain this qualification within the first six weeks.
