The Role
As the Deputy Principal – Student Engagement, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the school, with a focus on providing strategic oversight and leadership across Years 3 to 6 including the extension of students through targeted collaboration with classroom teachers to ensure that high quality differentiated Teaching and Learning occurs in every classroom, everyday to meet the needs of every student.
Alongside this, you will be responsible for leading our school’s work against the Aboriginal Cultural Framework and leading us to achieve our long term vision of being Culturally Capable. You will oversee our school’s implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and will provide coaching and mentoring to our school’s PBS Team and Team Leader.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal and administrative team to foster a positive school culture and enhance student outcomes. This position involves providing strategic direction and support to staff, promoting the school's values and vision, and ensuring the effective implementation of the Business Plan. Additionally, the Deputy Principal has the opportunity to lead curriculum development, implementing inclusive teaching practices, and fostering professional growth among educators through coaching and mentoring. They will also ideally manage daily operations, including staff and student wellbeing, and may oversee administrative functions such as timetabling, whole school events and resource allocation.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Deputy Principal ensures compliance with relevant legislation and departmental policies, manages financial and human resources effectively, and supports the Principal in reporting on school performance. They play a critical role in performance and development, providing timely feedback and professional development opportunities for staff.
The Deputy Principal serves as a key figure in driving school improvement, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, and ensuring that the school operates efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of its students and community.
