The Role
Comet Bay College is seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our Student Services team as a Student Support Coordinator, with a focus on enhancing the pastoral care and wellbeing of students across the college.
Working closely with Year Coordinators, the successful applicant will play a key role in supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 behaviour interventions and providing early intervention strategies that promote student engagement and success. A critical aspect of the role includes working with students on Risk Management Plans, providing consistent support and monitoring to ensure their safety and the wellbeing of others.
The Student Support Coordinator will assist in case management of identified students and coordinate initiatives such as the College’s Breakfast Club, which fosters connection and ensures students begin their day ready to learn. The role involves developing and delivering proactive, evidence-based programs to build social, emotional, and behavioural competencies.
Another key aspect of the role will include supporting with the organisation of whole school events linked to our Positive Behaviour Support culture.
Applicants should possess exceptional interpersonal skills to build supportive relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies. The ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, maintain professional standards, and contribute to a positive school culture is essential.
We are looking for an organised and solution-focused individual ideally with strong communication skills and the capacity to use a range of software systems and should be able interpret student data to inform practice. Previous experience in mentoring, student engagement, behaviour support or pastoral care will be considered favourably.
