The Role
The Program Coordinator – Inclusive Learning is a member of the School Leadership team and will work collaboratively with the wider-school community to develop a consistent practice framework and embed Multi-Tiered Systems of Support in the school to provide a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students. This is a strategic role where the successful applicant will lead intervention across the school and involves oversight of the school’s Tier 2 academic intervention programs (LEAP, Access 10, LEAF), ensuring an evidence-based, data informed approach to student selection, teacher professional learning and pedagogical practice that suits the needs of these programs. A small teaching load may be a component of the role.
Effective coordination and leadership of complex case management is central to this position. The suitable applicants should display a high level of understanding of the case management of students that includes knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. Highly developed communication skills will enable you to work closely with a range of staff including inter-departmental and external agencies at the school level to collaboratively seek positive student outcomes and family support. To this end, you should have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships and partner with teachers, families, and community members to achieve student success.
We are seeking to appoint a permanent and fixed term contract from this process.
One of Lynwood’s core values is inclusion. The Program Coordinator – Inclusive Learning, will work as an essential part of the student services team to:
- Support the building of capacity of staff to understand learning difficulties, trauma and diagnosed disability (including severe mental health) to promote inclusive teaching practices and learning environment in every classroom.
- Increase school identification, planning and monitoring for these students and their educational needs; and
- Facilitate support through the school’s Learning Area Education Assistant (EA) Model and build capacity in the EA team to provide exceptional support to teachers and their students.
Furthermore, you will ideally have knowledge and expertise in Reporting to Parents – Special Educational Needs (RTP-SEN) Planning, Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD), Disability Resourcing and documented plans.
