The Role
The successful applicant will ideally provide educational leadership in the school and the community by helping develop and promote our Safe, Trustworthy, Achieving, Respectful and Resilient (STARR) values, motto and priorities, and encouraging staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals. Our ideal Deputy principal will use effective change management strategies to assist the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved educational experience.
As an experienced school leader who is focused on the effective use of all physical and human resources to maximise student performance, the successful applicant will ideally be able to display their leadership of the timetabling process in a diverse Secondary school setting. The role requires an ability to evaluate the evidence available to collaboratively lead our College through the annual requirements of reviewing our curriculum offerings, how we review our performance and how best to meet the needs of all our students effectively.
You will ideally work closely and collaboratively with the Principal and the rest of the Executive Team to ensure system and school processes are completed in a timely and effective manner, ensuring the smooth operation of the school. The successful applicant will ideally be able to display they can operate effectively within a focused and distributive leadership team environment and they will ideally have the versatility to contribute across any of the Deputy Principals portfolios should it be deemed necessary by the Principal.
The successful applicant will ideally assist the principal to facilitate workforce effectiveness in leading and motivating staff to enhance outcomes for students. Our staff commit to a whole school teaching and learning framework whilst continuously improving their individual teaching practise using a trauma informed lens. We strive to ensure every child has the opportunity achieve excellence together every day. This key leadership role will have a significant impact in the daily management of staff and student wellbeing working collaboratively across a range of teams. The successful applicant will ideally have the opportunity to establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the middle school area of responsibility to deliver effective school operations within legislative and industrial policy and guidelines.
