We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Hollywood Primary School (PS) is a Level 5 school located in the City of Nedlands, within close proximity of the Hospital Precinct, The University of Western Australia and Kings Park, and with over twenty nationalities represented within the school population. The cultural diversity among students is recognised and celebrated to provide an enriched and inclusive curriculum. As an independent public school, we aim to provide an educational program of the highest standard. We have developed some unique programs that align with some of our local resources and facilities. (This includes Bush School, Regis visits, Telethon Discovery Centre and Ronald McDonald House)

The Role

In collaboration with the Principal and the leadership team, the Deputy Principal will provide high level strategic leadership in the school by developing and promoting the school’s vision, business plan and strategic directions across the school community. You will ideally possess excellent interpersonal acumen and be an innovative and strategic thinker.

The successful applicant will ideally display strong instructional leadership with a deep understanding of the Western Australia Curriculum, particularly in literacy and numeracy. They should be adept at leading evidence-based teaching practices and driving improvement in student outcomes through coaching and mentoring processes, particularly in the early years. Leading the implementation of High Impact Teaching Strategies, and a clearly defined explicit instruction lesson design across all phases of learning, ensuring effective student engagement is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading whole school process for Students at Educational Risk (SAER), Special Education Needs (SEN) planning and liaise with external agencies. This includes the development and oversight of Tier 2 and 3 interventions to support diverse student needs and additionally supporting staff to identify and differentiate for high potential learners.

This position may also include a teaching component to support school priorities.
