This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency

Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a committed and innovative educator to lead our Arts and Technologies Learning Areas as Head of Learning Area (HOLA), with a strong focus on integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning and future-focused curriculum delivery.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to shape and grow two key learning areas within the school, building staff capability, enhancing cross-curricular collaboration and developing programs with our recent STEM build as a priority.

We are looking for an instructional leader who can promote excellence in teaching and learning, foster a culture of creativity and innovation, and ensure high levels of engagement and achievement.

The Role

This role encompasses leadership of the Arts (Visual Arts, Media Arts and Performing Arts) and Technologies (Design and Technology and Food Science and Technology) learning areas. In your capacity as a curriculum leader, you will play a crucial role in providing professional guidance to Arts and Technologies teachers, ensuring that they stay informed on relevant curriculum issues within your designated area. You should be instrumental in facilitating teaching and learning outcomes, employing effective performance management strategies, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement among the school's academic community.

A key aspect of your role may involve implementing change management strategies to lead the school community in accepting and developing opportunities for improved service within your specified subject area. Your contributions will extend to the collaborative development of the school plan, involving participative decision-making, policy development, and the establishment of necessary systems.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
