The Role
Karratha SHS is seeking a Home Economics Assistant who is energetic, well-organised, and a strong team player with excellent communication skills. Experience in a hospitality kitchen or as a food preparation assistant would be advantageous.
The successful applicant should be capable of working independently and efficiently. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher by planning, preparing, and cutting up food before classes. The role also involves placing food orders online and managing stock levels, so basic computer skills will be highly regarded.
Our facilities include a senior school commercial kitchen and two food preparation rooms. The position involves cleaning and maintaining equipment, fixtures, fittings, and ovens, as well as performing laundry duties. Additionally, the role involves assisting with textile classes, including preparation and classroom support. While not essential, knowledge of sewing machines and overlockers is beneficial.
