About the position
AGWA is seeking an experienced professional with strong technical and database administration skills, and attention to detail, to join the Gallery’s Registration team. The Collections Database Officer will manage and maintain the Collection Management System (CMS), which preserves information about artworks in the State Art Collection. This important role is responsible for ensuring the ongoing accuracy, security, and accessibility of data related to the Collection, and to facilitate staff use of the CMS, so that gallery staff and the public can reliably access accurate and up-to-date collection records.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, the Main and Centenary Galleries house the State Art Collection of over 18,700 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works.

Conditions
This is a part time, permanent vacancy.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered – permanent and fixed term, part time and full time.
