The Hampton Senior High School (SHS) Vision is to develop culturally responsive, high impact educators who foster student aspiration, innovation and achievement. Hampton is in need of a Learning Support Teacher at 1.0FTE but would also be happy to receive applications from experienced teachers who can work in a part time capacity as we may have the capacity to be flexible in how we address the need.

The Role

Hampton SHS is seeking to appoint a dedicated teacher to continue the support of two of our flagship programs: The Learning Support Program and our Specialised Learning Program (SLP) - Autism, both line managed by our highly experienced Program Coordinators. The focus of these programs is to engage the students in meaningful and appropriate curriculum that will give a breadth of experience relevant to them as individuals. Improving the literacy and numeracy of our students is a major goal. Life skills, vocational and career education, work readiness and workplace learning are further key focus areas. There is an emphasis placed on pathways and transition throughout their secondary schooling journey

Hampton SHS caters to over 170 students with a diagnosed condition, including more than 60 with ASD. Applicants should display a a good range of knowledge and experience in ASD and other conditions, mental health disorders and learning disabilities, such as ADHD.

This role may include some student case management and small group intervention teaching (literacy/numeracy), individual education plan leadership, student testing/monitoring of results, senior school student transition support, leadership of Education Assistant and Student Support Workers in the areas you are working in when necessary and collaboration with other ASD-SLP and Learning Support teachers.

As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.
