The Role
Melville PS are looking for a dynamic and organised individual to join their team as a School Officer. The ideal applicant will have a friendly positive and caring attitude, with the qualities to promote excellence within our school. The School Officer should be proactive and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to various tasks and environments within the school are highly desirable. You should also be capable of delivering priority outcomes in a dynamic setting.
As a School Officer, you will provide high-quality customer and administrative support, working closely with the administration team, school support staff, our school community and teaching staff. You will be responsible for operating several software packages, including databases, word processing and management information systems. Experience in providing administrative support and a proven track record of effectively managing and prioritising tasks are highly desirable.
Responsibilities of the School Officer will include reception duties, enrolment procedures and processing student attendance, maintaining school databases including records and management information systems, providing first aid and publication of communications, whilst providing finance support to the Manager Corporate Services.
The School Officer will play an important role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as reconciling financial records and processing invoices. The successful applicant will also assist with the end of month procedures such as maintaining data integrity.
In addition to financial management, the School Officer will ideally also assist with the management of school assets. This includes coordinating maintenance and repairs and maintaining key register and security.
Experience with Compass Education, Student Information System (SIS), Resource Management (RM) Billing and RM Finance are highly desirable.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
