This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency

Ellenbrook Secondary College is a co-educational school serving Years 7 to 12. The College was built in 2007 and seeks to support and encourage children by fostering a sense of self-worth, respect and confidence. This comes from setting high standards for achievement and having caring, knowledgeable staff that support children to reach their goals, both academically and personally. The College believes quality educators are the foundation on which a school is built.

Find out more about our school by visiting ellenbrooksc.wa.edu.au/ or Schools Online.

The Role

As a member of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) team, you should be a conscientious, flexible, and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.

While this position is aligned with the HASS Learning Area, the associated teaching load for the remainder of this year currently consists of 3 lower school HASS classes, 1 lower school Science class as well as 2 Literacy Support/EALD classes. Staff timetables are reallocated each year and it is likely this will become a full HASS load in 2026.

This diverse teaching role would suit an applicant who has experience in lower school HASS and Science, with a strong focus in embedding literacy skills, or an upper primary teacher with experience teaching across learning areas. Hence, primary trained teachers with the relevant skills and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge or experience in teaching phonics-based language acquisition programs is desirable.

Developed CMS and literacy skills would be highly advantageous. You should build positive relationships with students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students.

Professional Benefits

Working for the Department of Education you will enjoy a range of benefits including competitive salaries, flexible working arrangements, training and career development opportunities and attractive leave provisions. Find out more about the benefits by visiting professional and personal benefits.
