
We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Education Support for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants should provide a supported functional and academic learning environment for students with disabilities. You should work towards continuous improvement of school programs and develop a highly skilled and proficient workforce. Suitable applicants will ideally have experience managing Education Assistants (EA) in a classroom setting with the ability to plan within the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Curriculum Framework. In this role you will individualise curriculum to meet Individual Education Plans (IEP) and educational outcomes.
Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH) experience would be highly regarded, in addition to the ability to plan IEPs and dynamic ability to plan individualised learning outcomes. A good understanding of diagnosed conditions such as Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and mental health, and how they impact on student learning, is highly regarded.
Knowledge of Education Support teaching practices, understanding of the principals of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), experience in using Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is highly desirable. Experience with Key Word sign is preferable.
Suitable applicants should be strong team players and be able to manage a classroom of support staff Education Assistant’s effectively and efficiently. You will ideally have strong teamwork and communication skills and the ability to set and maintain classroom routines and expectations. Education Support experience in a Primary setting will be highly regarded. You should be able to work effectively and efficiently with parents, carers, therapists, and a range of other professionals along with having a good understanding of Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Standards and the ability to develop self.
