This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.

Butler College is seeking to appoint a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Teacher with a passion for Arts/Media education.

Our Arts team deliver a high-quality and engaging environment for all budding artists. Our Performing Arts pathway focuses on the Music and Dance contexts, working closely with the Instrumental Music School (IMMS) to provide music students with additional learning and performance opportunities. Our Performing Arts students enjoy multiple opportunities to showcase their talents at school events, showcase evenings and outside-of-school performances and competitions. We deliver both traditional Visual Arts and Design in the Visual Arts pathway. Our digital media and photography expertise provides students access to our state-of-the-art resources and facilities, including our incredible TV and Audio Recording studios, providing students with the highest level of exposure to real-world technology and applications.

Founded in 2013, we are a public inclusive secondary school for students in Years 7 to Year 12. Our focus on working together and fostering relationships cultivates confidence and resilience in students. Our comprehensive curriculum is delivered by professional, dedicated and highly qualified teachers, ensuring students receive an education of the highest standard.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be open to developing the technology skills required to use Arts equipment. They should be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. They would use their professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Arts curriculum, from the early and middle adolescent phases of learning, through to senior secondary courses.

The successful applicant should be an enthusiastic adopter of a college wide Instructional Teaching model, informed by the Teach Well suite of resources and Classroom Management Systems (CMS) skills. They should be committed to personal and professional growth and embrace opportunities for collaboration.

The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to develop innovative classroom practices and utilise ICT to provide integrated, personalised, and authentic learning experiences for students. A key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs.
