The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Student Support Coordinator to join our Learning Support and Specialised Learning Program Autism Spectrum Disorder (SLP ASD) Teams and help enhance our innovative program. The Student Support Coordinator will have a key role in assiting with the day to day running of a variety of student support programs and initiatives and should ensure an effective and responsive service for students. The successful applicant’s responsibilities may include providing pastoral care, monitoring attendance, facilitating referral, managing and delivering targeted programs for identified students, case management and connecting families with external services, including National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The successful applicant plays a key role in the success of the school’s Learning Support and SLP ASD programs and should display exceptional skills in working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of educators, school psychologist, and external partners, ensuring a coordinated and holistic approach to student support.

The successful applicant will actively engage in meetings and case conferences within the school, and when necessary, with external agencies. Additionally, you will provide support to the School Administration team in handling crisis management and response tasks as required.

Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with students with disability, trauma informed practice and skills in supporting students’ emotional regulation will be considered favourably. The successful applicant should actively contribute to student Individual Education Plans, Behaviour and Wellbeing support plans and risk management plans and case manage students requiring additional support and intervention. It is highly desirable that the successful applicant holds or is working towards a qualification that involves counselling training, such as, but not limited to, Youth Work, Social Work, Community Service or Psychology.
