This is an eighteen (18) month fixed term, full-time position commencing June 2025 with possible extension (18 months) and/or permanency
The Department of Education’s core purpose is to provide every student with a pathway to a successful future. This is best achieved when the system, schools, students, families, communities and other agencies work in partnership.
The partnership approach is underpinned by school autonomy within a connected and unified public school system – schools know their students, families, and communities best and are best placed to effect positive outcomes through local place-based decision-making.
Local planning in schools is best supported by a public school system where quality decisions are made at the highest level. This includes directing resources to where they are most needed and designing new initiatives that make a difference to schools and young people. Quality advice and information, accountability, and effective program management are core to achieving this – building and assuring these practices across the Department is the remit of the SRT division.
The allocation of staff to projects and initiatives within the division is flexible with the right people being drawn upon at the right time from across the division to support delivery of our collective business priorities based on the necessary skills and expertise. SRT team members are required to have the expertise and ability to support multiple projects at once and manage priorities to address changing business needs.
