This is a permanent, full-time position commencing ASAP

The Capability Support branch leads and manages the implementation and coordination of online learning systems and tools for use in schools and for staff professional learning across the organisation. The branch oversees and manages processes for the production and publication of classroom and professional learning resources. We support the development and delivery of identified system professional learning and resource development priorities and provide expert advice to support the implementation of Statewide Services systems.

The Role

As the Principal Education Officer you will be involved in designing, implementing and coordinating online learning initiatives and resource development for schools, regions, and system level contexts, including strategic planning and the development of online systems, tools and services to support staff professional learning and to support schools, teachers, and students in relation to effective teaching and learning systems.

The role involves partnering with stakeholders to conceptualise future organisation and system requirements to influence and drive change that aligns to the Department’s strategic priorities and meets the needs of our customers.

This position requires a high-level understanding and experience of contemporary online learning practices and sound understanding of the K-12 education environment.

This position is located at the East Perth office and may be required to at times liaise with Statewide Services branches located in Padbury and Leederville.

  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check

  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
