The Role

Suitable applicants should ideally have a focus on high performance and high care and will ideally display professional knowledge, practical application and understanding of the Science curriculum from Years 7 – 12. They ideally should be expert in engaging students and provide a learning environment that facilitates students at all levels achieving their full potential

The work of staff should reflect a personal commitment to the values of the school: Self Discipline, Trust, Achievement and Respect (STAR). There is an expectation that staff engage in reflective practice, informed by a close examination of student performance incorporating data for relevant improvement plans. Teachers work collaboratively with peers and within their various faculties and as part of Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), including Restorative Teaching and Learning, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Classroom and Wellbeing.

All staff employed by the school have a focus on pastoral care, students’ well-being and a commitment to forming positive working relationships with students and colleagues. Staff engage with parents to assist student learning and ensure regular communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.

To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional Practice; and
  • Professional Engagement.
