This is a 5 year fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP

The Strategy and Policy Division is seeking a highly experienced professional to assist in planning the future delivery of public schooling throughout the State.

About the Branch

The Strategy and Policy Division provides strategic policy advice on local, state and national education initiatives, and develops system-wide strategies and policies to improve student and department outcomes.

Public Schools Planning is responsible for developing strategic options for the design, location and delivery of future public schooling needs. It has responsibility for ensuring that the configuration of the delivery of schooling across the State best meets the educational needs of every student.

About the Role

The Assistant Executive Director, Public Schools Planning plays a key role in the Department’s senior leadership team.  It is primarily responsible for leading the operational functions of the Public Schools Planning Directorate, including Schooling Planning and Early Childhood Policy and Coordination.

You will be working in collaboration with the Department’s Corporate Executive Team in planning the future delivery of public schooling throughout the State, ensuring the development of integrated, state-wide plans are consistent with the Department’s strategic directions.

The successful applicant will have exceptional interpersonal acumen to establish and maintain effective working relationships and form strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders. You will foster links and builds partnerships with key interest groups, including other Government departments.
