The Role
As a Library Officer the successful applicant will ideally have outstanding interpersonal skills to provide library support to our school community, our leadership team, and staff. You will work in partnership with staff to create a welcoming and vibrant library environment as an inviting hub of the school.
A love of books and a sound understanding of library systems, processes and stocktaking and knowledge of the library management system Oliver would be highly desirable. Ability to manage ICT resources could also be advantageous.
As a Library Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, provision of reference information and maintaining the environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. The Library Officer administers the library systems ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are always accessible and available to students and staff.
The successful applicant should have a knowledge of how to run and manage a cost centre, including the purchasing of relevant stock and required licenses will be highly regarded. The successful applicant may be required to supervise small groups of students outside lesson times and in class learning activities.
