The Role
As a Library Officer you would be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, provision of reference information and maintaining the environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. The Library Officer also manages the library systems (Access IT) ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are always accessible and available to students and staff.
The Library Officer will ideally have outstanding customer service skills to provide library support to our school community, leadership team and staff. You will work in partnership with staff to create a welcoming and vibrant library environment for students and families. A love of books and a sound understanding of the Access IT library systems, processes and stocktakes would be advantageous.
The Library Officer will be responsible for assisting students, parents and staff to select program and age-appropriate materials. They will ideally have the ability to lead and manage new initiatives and will also assist with the stocktaking and monitoring of the library budget and contributing to making recommendations for new library resources.
