Yanchep Secondary College (SC) provides young people in the Yanchep area with a high quality, comprehensive education. Yanchep SC opened in 2018 in a brand new purpose built school. We enrol students from year 7 to year 12 and offer a broad, high-level curriculum encompassing academic programs and vocational courses to provide students with opportunities to pursue learning interests that inspire and challenge them.

Our school has specialist teachers, a challenging curriculum that inspires excellence, and many options and pathways for students to succeed, including university, further training, or employment. The college is part of the Metropolitan Teaching Program for hard to staff schools. Teaching staff receive an additional allowance on top of their normal conditions.

The Role

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced Deputy Principal to lead a challenging portfolio which includes delivery of curriculum through whole school approaches, staff development, student services and innovative programs.

As an integral part of the school leadership team, the Deputy Principal will ideally possess the personal attributes to foster the established school culture of genuine care, respect, and support for colleagues, which is the foundation for the important work we do together every day to create optimal learning conditions for our students to flourish.

Suitable applicants should display ability to lead change, improve teacher practices by modelling effective teaching strategies, coach colleagues to enhance their skills and coordinate student services by engaging with parents, staff, external consultants, and stakeholders to support a range of complex student needs. The ability to remain flexible, effectively prioritise competing demands, and manage multiple tasks while being resilient and compassionate, are desirable attributes
