This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025
At Hannans Primary School, we embrace our motto, “Striving for Excellence,” as the foundation of everything we do. This guiding principle shapes our approach to providing the best education for every child, recognising that each individual – staff and students alike – has unique strengths and capabilities. We strive to provide a positive learning environment that will enable our students to develop and appreciate the academic, creative, physical and social skills necessary to become a successful and worthy member of a changing society.
Our school is dedicated to creating a culture of shared responsibility for learning development and we work to develop independent and collaborative learning skills, as well as developing the STRIVE values that are a focus at Hannans Primary School. Overlaying this are the long-standing and central priorities of student wellbeing, positive education and mental health.
At the heart of our school is a commitment to restorative practice, which helps to build and maintain positive relationships, manage conflict, and promote accountability within the school community. We believe restorative practices play a vital role in creating an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued, and where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth rather than failure.
As an Independent Public School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, Hannans Primary School was established in 1992 to meet the needs of the expanding Kalgoorlie-Boulder community. Over the years, we have maintained a welcoming and inclusive environment where parents, the School Board, parents and the wider community work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
We encourage staff to work collaboratively across different phases of learning, sharing expertise, resources, and best practices to enhance the educational experience for all. Teachers are supported in developing their leadership skills, and we recognize that shared, positive leadership is essential in driving continuous improvement and better outcomes for our students.
Together, we are committed to a culture of ongoing improvement, where everyone—students, staff, and the wider school community—is supported in striving for excellence in all that we do.
