This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2025

West Greenwood is a Level 5 primary school with approximately 400 students. Our specialist programs include Japanese, Science, Music and Phys Ed. We enjoy a close, and productive relationship with Greenwood College and the wider community, and we have an active School Board and committed P&C.

We are seeking an applicant who is collaborative, highly motivated, supportive of whole school processes and committed to ongoing professional growth and development.

The Role

The successful applicant will be committed to putting students first in their decision-making and undertaking the hard work that is inherent in delivering a motivating and quality educational program. They believe that exemplary, evidence-based teaching practices with tiered curriculum differentiation leads to successful students and high standards of achievement and progression. The successful applicant will be confident in the use of digital technologies across the curriculum to enhance student outcomes and be innovative and contemporary in their practices. They should possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and commit to working collaboratively in a team environment. Applicants will value kindness and care as the underlying approach to building student and staff relationships.

The successful applicant should teach Music across a range of ability levels from Kindergarten to Year 6. Applicants who have outstanding classroom management, can develop rapport and engage students, who can differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs, and who can practise a range of teaching strategies are encouraged to apply.

Experience in managing assemblies, establishing a school choir and band showcasing students’ talents to the wider community, and managing the Instrumental Music School Service (IMSS) program is highly desirable. As a specialist Teacher of Music, you shall be an integral part of our teaching team.

As the successful applicant you would ideally have highly developed skills and experience in teaching Music to maintain and enrich the West Greenwood Music program. The successful applicant would ideally actively contribute and support a collaborative team approach to develop a culture of excellence in the Music teaching and learning programs.
