The Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) is seeking a motivated and experienced Finance Officer to join our team and take the lead in managing daily financial transactions, ensuring smooth and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, and contributing to the overall financial health of our organisation.
As our Finance Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of crucial finance functions including processing and reconciling accounts, managing the general ledger, and delivering reliable, timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on role that supports the broader finance team and organisation by ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial matters.
Key aspects of this position include:
- Maintain the integrity of financial systems and ensure accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, including complex transactions, reconciliations, and journals.
- Manage month-end tasks, settlement payments, and weekly financial reporting to support cash flow planning.
- Provide financial advice to staff, ensure compliance with policies and tax obligations (BAS, EOFY, audits), and uphold quality assurance across all transactions.
- Oversee banking, receipting, petty cash, purchase card, and Cabcharge processes, ensuring proper usage and system compliance.
- Maintain supplier relationships, update preferred supplier lists, and recover payments from agencies and vendors.
- Undertake administrative tasks, deliver high-quality client service, and collaborate to meet organisational reporting and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience working in a financial management environment.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, clients and external stakeholders with a collaborative mindset and proactive approach to work.

This is a recruitment pool for permanent full-time appointments. This recruitment pool may be used to fill other vacancies for up to 12 months.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies at ACT. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months.

Conditions
A current Satisfactory National Police Clearance (within 6 months) will be required prior to commencing employment.
Applicants for permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector must be Australian citizen or hold permanent resident status. For temporary (fixed-term) positions, proof of eligibility to work in Australia for the contract duration is required.
