About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and between students and staff, and engaging parents and the wider community in the educational work of the school.
Principals are responsible for being innovative and creative in the establishment of systems and structures to foster academic development and improvements in social and emotional development for students, as well as engaging a diverse school community in the educational programs of the school.
Principals possess a commitment to continuous school improvement and development of the instructional program, particularly the pedagogy of beginning teachers, and building networks with other agencies, other schools, and services in the community to benefit school programs.
About Dalwallinu District High School
Dalwallinu District High School (DHS) is a dynamic Kindergarten to Year 10 Independent Public School located in the northern Wheatbelt town of Dalwallinu, approximately 250 kilometres from Perth. The school is committed to providing high-quality education that supports every student to achieve their personal best in a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
The school caters to a diverse student population from the town and surrounding rural communities, with six bus routes servicing areas including Latham, Buntine, Wubin, Pithara and Kalannie. Students in Years 11 and 12 are supported to continue their education through enrolment with the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE).
Dalwallinu DHS offers a broad curriculum with access to School Based Traineeships, specialist facilities in Design and Technology, Home Economics, and Science, and purpose-built Early Childhood Education classrooms. Refurbished learning environments across both primary and secondary phases are equipped with modern technologies to enhance student learning.
