We currently have the following positions available, commencing Term 3, 2025

  • 2 x permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) positions

Toodyay District High School, 85kms east of Perth, Western Australia, in the historic Avon Valley caters for Kindergarten to Year 10 students. Our specialised Early Childhood, Middle and Upper Primary Teachers with support staff, provide innovative and engaging classes based on the West Australian Curriculum. Our specialist teachers in Secondary School deliver a diverse curriculum, enabling students to successfully proceed to Senior Schooling.

The Role

The successful applicants will join our committed, vibrant and energetic leadership team, working collaboratively across the school Kindergarten to year 10 to create positive conditions for learning to enable sustained school improvement. The successful applicants will ideally be innovative leaders and team players, with strengths in pastoral care, behaviour management, communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of trauma informed practice and interventions, and Positive Behaviour Support would be an advantage. The ability to work collaboratively within teams and make data informed decisions would be highly regarded.

Being able to translate our ambitious plans into action, flexibility, proactivity, hard work and attention today detail would be highly regarded. Both roles involve working across the school in supporting the implementation of our strategic vision, but each has separate roles as outlined below:

Position 1

This role is primarily a systemic one with a focus on Secondary School with particular emphasis on understanding the needs of adolescents. Logical thinking, problem solving and the ability to work with systems including timetabling and data analysis and management would be highly regarded. The knowledge required to support students as they transition beyond Year 10 would be advantageous.

Position 2

The school has begun an ambitious school improvement plan with an emphasis on teaching and learning, specifically, the implementation of high impact teaching practices, including explicit instruction and full participation tactics. We are therefore seeking an instructional leader to inspire, guide and coach staff across all phases of learning as we continue towards our aspiration of being a school of excellence. Change management skills and experience would be highly advantageous to this role.
