The Role
Education Support Teachers will assist in the provision of specialised education support programs and classes, tailored to the needs of small groups of students. The suitable applicants will be encouraged to support and contribute to whole-school pedagogical practices and the behaviour curriculum. This will enhance differentiated teaching in structured learning environments in which the required instructional, curriculum and environmental adjustments support all students to achieve to their potential.
Suitable applicants will ideally be motivated, compassionate, flexible, highly organised, and possess a deep knowledge of pedagogy specific to students with disability. Highly developed classroom management skills are highly regarded, as to create the safe and caring environments needed for optimal learning to take place, as is the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions. Suitable applicants should have proficiency in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress, and areas for development as well as the ability to develop plans / programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. Suitable applicants should possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate leadership within the classroom and wider community.
