This is a 9-month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2025 with possible extension.

Since 1921, Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. The school provides a blend of traditional and innovative programs designed to prepare students from Years 7 to 12 for higher education, vocational training, and employment. Pinjarra SHS is developing a high engagement, learning focussed culture where the skills of teaching and learning are seen as complementary and are valued equally. Underpinning this approach is a strong focus on preconditions for effective learning, which includes a commitment for teachers to be trained in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), and Peer Observation and Feedback. We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school that promotes Tolerance, Respect, Unity, and Embracing Opportunities as our core values. Positive behaviour is modelled by staff and expected of all students.

The Role

Ideally, the successful applicant will be a passionate and dedicated teacher who provides students with purposeful and engaging learning experiences to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in the Home Economics classroom. The successful applicant will join an experienced Home Economics team that is collaborative, friendly and supportive and will work in high quality environments for both Food and Textiles aspects of curriculum delivery.  The capacity to deliver Vocational Education Training (VET) qualifications for senior school students would be highly desirable for this position.
