We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Onslow School is part of the Remote Teaching Service which provides unique and diverse experiences at a personal and professional level. The school caters for Kindy to Year 12 students with a current enrolment of 174 students. Onslow is a coastal town in the West Pilbara Region of Western Australia about 300km southwest of Karratha. The opportunities within education are enhanced through partnerships with local industry within the town which has a culturally diverse student population where we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, the Thalanyji people.

Find out more about our school by visiting www.onslowschool.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.

The Role

Onslow School is seeking dedicated primary teachers for the 2025/2026 academic years who are passionate about delivering high-quality education, fostering high expectations, and ensuring success for all students. If you align with our Business Plan priorities - Excellence in Teaching & Leadership, a Supportive & Inclusive Environment, and a Connected Community - we encourage you to apply.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of explicit teaching practices, clearly articulating how they implement these strategies in their own teaching and their impact on student learning outcomes. A commitment to whole-school processes in English and Mathematics is essential, alongside a solid grasp of the WA Curriculum, as outlined by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA).

As part of the written application, candidates must describe their behaviour support strategies, including approaches for neurodiverse students, and demonstrate cultural responsiveness to showcase their suitability for the role. Additionally, the successful applicant will provide a clear explanation of how they engage with families and the broader community as part of building positive relationships.

A small school environment presents unique challenges and opportunities, so the ideal candidate should be able to work independently, particularly in planning and delivering teaching and learning programs. At Onslow School, collaboration is highly valued, with team members expected to work closely with colleagues and actively contribute to school improvement through committee involvement. Additionally, Onslow School provides various leadership opportunities, welcoming individuals with diverse skill sets to make a meaningful impact.
