We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Currently, Alinjarra Primary School (PS) has two substantive Deputy Principal positions available.
As an Independent Public School, Alinjarra PS is proud of its strong community spirit and commitment to inclusivity. We celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our school, with over 30 languages spoken by our families, and place great value on the partnerships we build with parents and the wider community. Our vision is to provide a high-quality educational environment where every student is supported to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Located in the northern suburbs of Perth, Alinjarra PS caters for approximately 330 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We offer a broad and engaging curriculum, supported by specialist programs in Music, Physical Education, Science, and Indonesian. As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school, we prioritise student wellbeing, engagement, and academic achievement in a safe and inclusive setting. Our students benefit from a wide range of learning opportunities, including the River Rangers program, where Year 5 and 6 students develop their understanding of environmental conservation and the importance of caring for the Swan River and local surroundings.
Our staff are experienced, dedicated, and passionate educators who are deeply committed to improving outcomes for all students. Many are long-serving members of the school community, contributing to the warm, supportive, and collaborative culture that defines Alinjarra Primary School.

The Role
Alinjarra Primary School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. With positions available in both K to 2 and Years 3 to 6, this is an exciting opportunity for a committed leader to bring their strengths and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture. We are looking for someone who ideally has proven strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and is dedicated to building a collaborative environment that supports innovation, shared ownership, and high expectations for all.
This collaborative ethos also underpins our approach to change management, with the Deputy Principal playing a vital role in guiding staff through change and fostering a shared commitment to continuous improvement. The successful applicant will ideally have proven experience working confidently at both an operational and strategic level, managing day-to-day coordination of school processes while also contributing to school-wide planning, initiatives, and improved outcomes for students.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate strong instructional leadership and curriculum knowledge, with the capacity and experience to lead whole-school evidence-based teaching practices and drive improvements in literacy and numeracy. As a key member of the leadership team, you should work closely with the principal to lead whole-school planning, data analysis, and performance improvement initiatives. Experience in managing the SAER (Students at Educational Risk) portfolio and supporting staff and students through Disability Resourcing processes is highly desirable.
We are looking for a collaborative leader who is committed to distributed leadership and has a proven ability to build capacity in others and lead high-performing teams. A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), restorative practices and supporting students at educational risk are highly desirable.
Alinjarra is seeking an experienced, dedicated leader who will thrive as part of a tight-knit, hardworking team—someone who values collaboration, is forward-thinking, and is committed to working together to achieve the best outcomes for our students and school community.
