North and South Metropolitan Education Regions are seeking to establish a pool of Participation Coordinators for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of May 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Across the state, Regional Education Offices are responsible for supporting schools in the metropolitan and rural areas by promoting system initiatives, providing support and quality assurance and ensuring consistency in the implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the outcomes of schooling. Regional offices are also required to ensure that each school within their area of responsibility complies with the relevant legislation and policies.
Daily travel by car is a large part of the Participation Coordinator role to facilitate in person contact through visits to student’s homes, support services, alternative education providers, training providers and employers to provide direct support and optimise success of the arrangements.
The Role
The Participation Coordinator provides case coordination, transition brokerage and face-to-face outreach support to secondary school-aged students who have become early school leavers, or that are most at risk of disengaging from education. Participation Coordinators assess individual students’ needs and develop individual pathway plans to ensure our most vulnerable students are supported to transition into appropriate education, training, or employment pathways. As a Participation Coordinator, you will leverage your knowledge, experience and network of youth, education, training and employment services across your region to explore suitable career pathways and options for young people.
Suitable applicants are culturally responsive and trauma-informed communicators who can negotiate positive outcomes with students, parents/guardians, leadership teams in schools, training organisations, support agencies and industry. #linkedin
