This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025

We encourage and support staff to be innovative and engaging in their curriculum delivery, providing digital TVs and/or projectors in every room, and supported with class sets of iPads and laptops. The College is fully networked and has the latest wireless operating system enabling staff and students to be “connected” at all times. Comet Bay College is a Gifted and Talented school and also has extension pathways in English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences Years 7 to 10.

We have a highly successful Senior School that is achieving above like schools in both the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Vocational education and training (VET) pathways. We are looking for committed teachers who know they can make a difference and will add to the fabric of our college.

The College also has a successful and highly competitive Australian Football Specialist Program. The Visual and Performing Arts also offer extension classes in Drama, Dance and Art to selected students in Years 7 to 10. The Role

Comet Bay College is seeking suitably qualified, passionate, and committed English Teacher to join our team. At Comet Bay College we strive for excellence by nurturing individual abilities, providing meaningful opportunities and fostering positive respectful relationships.

The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the English Western Australian Curriculum to help our students achieve outstanding results. You would have the opportunity to teach ATAR and so aspirations to or experience in teaching ATAR English would be desirable.

To be suitable for this role, you will ideally be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as will as demonstrating an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of instructional strategies available within the College, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable all students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, you should work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
