Oberthur Primary School (OPS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher – Gifted and Talented to join our vibrant and diverse learning community. As an Independent Public School with a tradition of strong community involvement, OPS is committed to delivering exceptional educational opportunities to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. This is a permanent, part-time (0.4FTE) two day per week position.
Alongside our academic focus, OPS is proud to offer a well-established and highly regarded Chinese Language Program, including a Chinese Immersion (bilingual) program delivered across all Pre-Primary to Year 6 classes. We also provide specialist instruction in Music and Physical Education, enriching our students’ learning experience and supporting their holistic development. Our school is also strong in ICT, and classrooms include interactive screens. Students in Year 4 to Year 6 participate in a one-to-one MacBook program and students from Year 1 to Year 3 have a one-to-one iPad program.

The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver innovative and engaging programs that extend, and challenge Gifted and Talented students, including students who may be ‘twice exceptional’.
- Lead and support staff in developing best practices for gifted education.
- Foster a learning environment that promotes critical thinking, inquiry, and high-level problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate effectively with a dynamic team of educators to maintain a positive, inclusive school culture.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- High-level knowledge and experience in designing and implementing learning programs for Gifted and Talented students.
- Shows a passion for innovative, student-centred teaching practices.
- Is motivated, energetic, and capable of building strong relationships with students and colleagues.
- Reflects on and assesses the effectiveness of their teaching to continuously improve student outcomes.
- Embraces diversity and understands the unique needs of students, including those with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
