Since 1921, Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. The school provides a blend of traditional and innovative programs designed to prepare students from Year 7 – 12 for higher education, vocational training, and employment. Pinjarra SHS is developing a high engagement, high performance culture where the skills of teaching and learning are valued equally. Central to this is a commitment for our staff to be trained in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), and Peer Observation and Feedback. We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school that promotes Tolerance, Respect, Unity, and Embracing Opportunities as our core values. Positive behaviour is modelled by staff and expected of all students.
Pinjarra SHS also has a strong focus on increasing student aspiration, participation, and achievement through the development of enterprise skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. These skills are embedded in our instructional model and form part of the overall strategy to develop confidence and capacity in our students during their secondary school years. Underpinning this is our ongoing commitment to develop Growth Mindsets in our staff and students through targeted Professional Learning and instructional strategies. Further details about our approach to teaching and learning can be found in the attached document: Growing Learners for Life.
Knowledge or interest in these areas will be considered advantageous to applicants. Graduates are also encouraged to apply. While we prefer to fill the position full time, we would consider a part-time/job share load for a suitable applicant(s).
