The Role
The Network Support Officer has the role of maintaining the school’s Information Technology (IT) network to effectively and efficiently maximise educational and administrative outcomes within the Department of Education’s asset management and security regulatory framework. The successful applicant will provide advice to administration staff on technical issues associated with the network system and provide technical support and training to all users. As Network Support Officer, you will liaise with Department of Education Information and Communication Technologies Support to resolve hardware, software and network related issues. The Network Support Officer will also provide input on system enhancements and implement new systems through research and identification of appropriate Information Technology resources in line with the Department of Education (DoE) requirements and policies.
The successful applicant will ideally understand service support within a school business context and how they can help support, deliver and assist with development of new technology and transition planning. Ideally, you will be well organised and experienced in reviewing and improving ICT infrastructure and resources. This is not just a help desk role - we are seeking proactive individuals who would improve and maintain our systems and network. You should be able to articulate school ICT needs to the finance, and other, committees and set plans in place for these to be realised. You should have skills and experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems and knowledge of ICT best practices.
Experience in the management of ICT equipment/software packages would be considered as advantageous though not essential.
