The Role
The role of the Library Officer is to supervise the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students. As part of the role, you administer library systems, ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed, so they are always accessible and available to students and staff. The successful applicant will conduct library skills and the use of library equipment, as well as providing technical advice on the library Information Technology system. The incumbent may be required to work at our MET or Tindale Campus but will be based at the MET Campus in the first instance. The MET Library provides Library services for John Tonkin College, John Tonkin College Education Support Centre, and South Metro TAFE.
The successful applicant should display strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment. Ideally, you will possess strong computer skills across a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing.
