The Role

The Educational Audiologist works within an interdisciplinary team to ensure the educational impact of hearing loss is considered at an individualised level and in a holistic manner when determining eligibility for SSEN: S services. The Educational Audiologist provides specialist information, expert advice and professional learning to SSEN: S personnel. The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to perform comprehensive paediatric hearing assessments and evaluations and provide written or verbal interpretation of assessment results, functional implication and management recommendations. As our service encompasses children from birth to Year 13, we are seeking an Educational Audiologist with experience in working with young children and/or school age children and their families. To support students with hearing loss in an educational setting, a sound understanding of best classroom practices to cater for the needs of individual students with a hearing loss is highly desirable.
