
We are seeking to establish a pool of Gardener - Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Piara Waters Primary School (PS) opened in February 2012 catering for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and is located in the suburb of Piara Waters (South Metropolitan Education Region). It is one of the largest primary schools in the state, and staff benefit from working in a large, collaborative team, to continually build their knowledge. The Role
As the Gardener - Handyperson, suitable applicants will work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. Suitable applicants will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.
The suitable applicants should have effective communication skills, be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with other part time gardeners, school staff and external stakeholders and ideally be able to work unsupervised, with the ability to identify and recognise work that is required to be completed. The Gardener - Handyperson will ideally be well organised, have attention to detail, a positive outlook and be a team player.
